KnowledgeVision in Action: Examples from our Clients
KnowledgeVision is already at work all over the world, in some of the most forward-looking technology, financial, healthcare, professional services, not-for-profit, and educational institutions. While the vast majority of KnowledgeVision presentations are proprietary and are not shared on public websites, here are some public examples of KnowledgeVision at work.
Enhancing a Guest Lecture Series
A joint lecture by Harvard Dean Cherry Murray and Visiting Scientist Richard Sears is preserved and enhanced in this KnowledgeVision presentation. The two served on the President’s Commission on the BP Deepwater Oil Spill, and this lecture describes how their high-profile work unfolded. Especially noteworthy in this presentation is the active use of just-in-time footnotes to take the viewer to supplemental material, the use of virtual handouts offering the commission’s full report and recommendations, and the incorporation of video animations along with the slides.

KnowledgeVision for Continuing Medical Education
Continuing Medical Education is particularly well-suited to the KnowledgeVision presentation platform, and Emerson Hospital is one of the institutions that have recognized that. The hospital has preserved its monthly series of CME lectures in a KnowledgeVision Collection. The ability to view not only the subject matter expert but also the fine, high-resolution detail of each slide is critical to being able to present complex material to a professional audience.

Customizing a Complex Sale
One of our favorite stories is about an individual who built a site around KnowledgeVision for the sole purpose of selling his turboprop airplane. An elaborate KnowledgeVision presentation, filmed and assembled in just a few hours, uses extensive just-in-time footnotes not only to show the specs and features of the airplane, but also to take viewers inside the aircraft’s flight history, logbooks, and detailed performance statistics.

In this example of our KnowledgeVision player, we illustrate the flexibility of the player to provide synchronized content – video, PowerPoint Slides, chapter-based navigation, and context-dependent Web links – allowing a college admission consulting organization a rich, informative tool for explaining the college interviewing process.
